Position Summary
Supply Janitors perform heavy cleaning duties and Supply Janitor Assistants perform light routine cleaning duties.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Supply custodians:
- floor maintenance including scrubbing, waxing, stripping and finishing
- assist the head janitor in maintaining the building and mechanical equipment
- assist in the security of the building and adjacent areas
- comply with health and safety programs
- monitor community use of the school during the shift and respond to requests for assistance
- furniture removal (assembly and removal of furniture for school events)
- removing snow
Supply Custody Assistants:
- performing routine light cleaning tasks
- assisting with building security
- comply with school health and safety programs
Education/Qualifications
Supply custodians:
- high school diploma
- at least 2 years of related experience
- related custody training
- good communication and interpersonal skills
Supply Custody Assistants:
- at least 1 year of related experience
- related custody training
- good communication and interpersonal skills
Payment rate
Supply Custodians: $23.98 per hour
Supply Custodial Assistants: $19.95 per hour
Closing
We are looking for individuals who can work day shifts (7am-6pm) and/or afternoon shifts (2pm-11:30pm). Work hours may vary and may be up to 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday. This is an hourly, on-call position with opportunities for temporary and long-term assignments and eligibility to apply for advertised permanent positions. Interested candidates should be prepared to travel to various schools throughout Edmonton.
