Position: Quality Technician – Nuclear Industry (1 Year Contract)

Shift: morning, evening, overnight
Salary: $80,938.26 per year – Contract, Fixed-Term Contract

Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Quality Engineering/Technology or similar post-secondary education.
- Experience in the application and interpretation of CSA N285.0, ASME Sec. III, CSA Z299 Series and ISO 9001:2000 or similar standards.
- Experience in interpreting drawings, technical documents, purchase orders, etc.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance or demonstrated in-depth knowledge of quality program fundamentals.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Knowledge of procurement practices.
- Basic knowledge of non-destructive examination reports (RT, UT LP, MP, etc.), dimensional inspection techniques and weld inspection.
- Inspection and testing quality control planning or equivalent product/process/equipment qualification experience.
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated team spirit.
- Medical examinations are required to qualify as a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW).

Magnetic Particle MP Level II
Obligations:
- Interpret drawings, technical documents, procedures, purchase orders, ASME and CSA N285.0, etc. and determine quality control requirements.
- Review customer quotation to establish quality requirements and provide information to complete RFQ (request for quotation).
- Create Inspection and Test Plans.
Witness testing and ensure test plans are being followed (factory acceptance tests, lift tests, pressure tests, etc.). - Create and send data packages (history log) for design/build projects.
- Utilize database systems, MS Office applications and Livelink to track, document, record and retrieve production and documentation information.
- Review test records and results to verify compliance with quality plan requirements.
- Interact with customer quality representative and jurisdiction on quality issues and ensure adherence to inspection and test plan.
- Interact with Engineering to determine appropriate material disposition and corrective actions.
- Review and approve travelers for adherence to procedures, specifications, etc.
- Review the purchase order and ensure compliance.

Perform daily measurements and provide technical feedback on component/part compliance with design.
- Make rough sketches and layouts, record and analyze data, make calculations and estimates, report findings.
- Interpret codes, standards and technical documents to determine quality control requirements.

- Identify problems and security issues.
- Take appropriate corrective action.
- Monitor corrective action.

- Focus on the priorities set by the company/supervisor/manager.
- Prepare and properly schedule the time allocated for tasks.
- Leverage resources and cooperate with other working groups.

- Learn and follow manufacturing quality documentation, procedures and instructions (BMS, QA-P, QA-WI, forms, etc.).

Selected candidates will be tested and interviewed.
The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $80,938.26 and $99,805.68 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local labour market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as an annual cash incentive, plus a full range of medical, retirement and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at the time the selected candidate receives an offer of employment.
