POSITION OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for picking and packing orders from Provincial Warehouse inventory. Restocks shelves daily. Fulfills all inbound and outbound cable orders. Unloads and sorts returned material in the Credit Area. Loads scrap dealers with old materials and surplus equipment. Receives, sorts, delivers and ships mail and packages to and from all floors at 2121 Saskatchewan Drive daily. Ships and receives telephone equipment via Priority Mail and records transactions in the FSD to update customer records. Substitutes for the senior shipper/receiver as needed. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fills stock reservations and packages material for shipment. Fills cable orders (transfers material, assigns new reel number, cuts). Fills orders for external customer cable orders. Fills backorders and RSH’s.
  • Completes goods issue for completed reservations and issues material-to-material transfers as required.
  • Loads and unloads outbound and inbound supplies to and from delivery vehicles. Loads lifesaving supplies.
  • Performs inventory counts following instructions from the Stocker and assists the Stocker in resolving discrepancies in inventory items, quantities and orders.
  • Inspects elevators and transportation equipment prior to use (daily) and reports unsafe/damaged conditions to the Distribution Manager – Provincial Warehouse.
  • Unpacks and stocks new and refurbished materials.
  • Offers relief with flexible delivery, credits, yard and mailroom at 2121 Sask. Dr.
  • Receives, sorts and delivers correspondence to the Headquarters floors.
  • Follows safe work practices and procedures. Takes reasonable care to protect personal health and safety and the health and safety of others in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • General knowledge of personal computers and various software applications.
  • Mathematical aptitude.
  • Must successfully complete training on materials handling equipment and dangerous goods in accordance with the
  • Saskatchewan Safety Council and SaskTel accredited courses including WHMIS.
  • Ability to direct and coach others.
  • Good communication skills, including written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to plan and organize in a self-directed environment.
  • A valid driver’s license.
